I briefly talked about this in an earlier post and I have now had time to outline the details of this project and they are as follows. A post will be made to Spock Lives and a project page will be added to the Fandom section. I will also be pimping this in various Star Trek communities; apologies if you see it more than once. It took me a little longer than anticipated to get this post ready because I wanted to go get the scrapbook so I would have exact measurements of the pages.

Content:
  • What » Letters, fan art, poetry, fanfic, doodles, cosplay/costumes, collages. Must fit on an 8.5x11 inch (21.5x27.9cm) page, can be vertical or horizontal. Two works max per person, please.
  • How » Digital files and scanned images will certainly be accepted, but if you would like to send a hand-written letter or original artwork, you are encouraged to do so. :D
  • Do Not » Submit questionable content. No smut fics, obviously (though he knows they exist), no stolen art or written words, etc. I think you know where to draw the line. ;)
Organization:
» The book will be put together in a scrapbook, which is why original content is encouraged. It will add a nice personal touch to the book, which I think Mr. Nimoy will appreciate.

Delivery:
» I will personally deliver the book to Leonard Nimoy at Dragon*Con in September.

Deadline:
» August 21. Dragon*Con is September 4-7 and I will be leaving for Atlanta on the 3rd, so I must have time to finish the book before the convention. Please do not procrastinate.

What I Need Now:
» I need comments — will you commit and what would you like to submit? I also welcome any suggestions or questions you may have. Spread the word. You do not need to have a LiveJournal to participate, though this is largely being organised through LiveJournal.

Submission Guidelines:
  • Text Submissions » Hand-written letters will be accepted and are encouraged, so please write legibly. Scanned letters and typed letters will also be accepted. If you are sending a digital file, .txt documents are preferred. If you are scanning a document, please make sure it is in JPEG or PNG format and between 150 to 300 dpi. Content must fit on one (8.5x11 inch/21.5x27.9cm) page.
  • Artwork Submissions » Hand-made art will be accepted and is encouraged. Scanned art will be accepted. If you are scanning artwork, please make sure it is in JPEG or PNG format and between 150 to 300 dpi. Content must fit on one (8.5x11 inch/21.5x27.9cm) page. No traced or vectored images. Do not submit artwork that is not your own.
  • Regarding Hand-made Items » I have absolutely no problem providing my personal address, but I will not post it publicly. Please e-mail me (amie@spocklives.com) or send me a personal message here on LJ and I will reply with where to send your submission(s). :)
Updates:
» June 18 — I have made a list of people who are interested in participating and so far there are 35. I've already received the first submission — from [info]agent_tomato. :D

[info]karenjeane and I have been working nonstop over the last few days to get this thing up and running before the movie opened. Please visit and tell us what you think! :D

I've got my ticket for the 7pm show tonight and I can't wait! It's finally here! Happy Star Trek day, everybody!

In other, less exciting news, the semester finally ended for me yesterday, but I am certain I did not do as well this semester as last semester for some reason. I went to show up for the Political Science final, and no one was there, so I left. It was optional anyhow, but I could have used that half a letter grade or whatever. Also, as of yesterday, I have contracted some sort of plague that is making me feel like crap. :/

this journal is friends only; comment to be added.

I have been on LiveJournal since January of 2002 — that's a long time. All of my posts used to be public, but I decided to go friends-only because there are some things that I just don't want the general public (or certain people) to be able to read.

I am not a friending/commenting whore. Most of the people on my list are people I know in real life, long time internet friends, people I've met at Dragon*Con, or other people that I find fascinating to read. If you are on my list, it is because I like you. It is not about how many comments you leave me or whatever. I do not always comment, but that doesn't mean that am not reading your posts. I comment when I have something to say. :)

If you've been deleted, it's probably for one of the following reasons:

1) I don't read your LJ anymore.
2) You've offended me in some way.
3) We don't connect.
4) You don't comment, ever.

If you would like to add me, please leave a comment on this post. Generally, I add anyone back who adds me. If I don't for some reason, it's probably the lack of connection or the fact that you don't post, so don't take it personally. I like to keep my list managable. Likewise, if you are seeing this, you may not be logged in! ;)
